By incorporating principles of sustainability into key business decisions, BMI focuses on three key green initiatives while continually increasing the value provided to customers:

- Lead our industry in the green community
To meet these objectives, BMI has implemented paperless business systems both in the office and in the field. These technological tools have improved communication and allowed more efficient use of our service fleet, significantly reducing not only consumable paper products, but vehicle mileage as well. BMI has estimated that non-productive fleet vehicle travel has been reduced by more than 70% as a result of our e-service and GPS systems.
BMI supports the phase out of ozone depleting refrigerants, including R-22. To that end, BMI is proactively meeting with customers in need of mechanical system upgrades or replacements to develop strategies for switching to hydro-fluorocarbon refrigerants, such as R-410A, which do not contribute to ozone depletion.
BMI is a member of the U.S. Green Building Council through corporate membership and active board participation. Through seminars, public events, and web communications, BMI is helping to educate and engage building and service professionals throughout our California markets.
